About Cody
Growing up in the far northern city of Anchorage, Alaska, Cody developed a love for nature and the outdoors. Alaska's expansive mountain ranges and long coastlines largely remaining untouched has driven his belief that our natural world is worth preserving and protecting so that our future generations may continue to enjoy it as we have.
Cody has been privileged to travel to many beautiful places throughout his life, seeing a wide range of natural and artificial environments. From major metropolises such as New York, Hong Kong, and London to the rugged and unforgiven terrain of Alaska, Australia, and Iceland, he has a good sense of the wide range of human habitats and climates, as well as the benefits and challenges each of these places present.
Cody's undergraduate career first took him to the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque where the desert is big and the resources are often scarce. Living in another beautiful place, but with vastly different climatic challenges to Alaska seeded Cody's interests in sustainability. With several major life events around the same time, he decided a move back to Anchorage was necessary where he completed his undergraduate degree in Art emphasizing Sculpture at the University of Alaska Anchorage in 2019.
Colorado was next on Cody's list, as he frequently visited as a child since his parents were raised and several generations of grandparents lived and died here. Though his undergraduate career was not in Architecture, he has known since around 11 years old that it was a major interest of his and went for his Master of Architecture at University of Colorado Denver, graduating in 2022. He has a particular interest in sustainable design (especially residential) and would like to incorporate the principles of Passive House into his work.
In his free time, Cody loves to travel and has been on several month-or-more-long trips over the years with his most recent at the end of his graduate degree, studying in Barcelona for 3 weeks and an extra month traveling around Europe and Iceland. He really enjoys living in Denver and loves all the outdoor activities Colorado has to offer with a keen interest in skiing in the wintertime.
